Janus Electric rang the bell earlier today on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), marking a successful listing. This represents a major milestone for the company – and for the entire green transport sector in Australia.
Kjøller participated in the listing as a cornerstone investor and is now the largest shareholder with approximately 8.6% ownership of the listed company.
We chose to back Janus Electric not just because it’s a strong business – but because it’s an important one. Janus develops and converts heavy trucks from diesel to electric using swappable battery packs. This allows large vehicles to operate electrically without compromising on range, uptime, or economics.
The converted trucks save around 20 Australian cents (approximately 0.80 Danish kroner) per kilometre driven. For trucks driving up to 200,000 kilometres a year, this quickly adds up to a significant saving. Economic sustainability isn’t just a benefit – it’s a fundamental prerequisite for environmental sustainability too. The company is already generating solid revenue and has converted numerous trucks currently operating on Australian roads.
To date, the company has converted 23 diesel trucks and holds confirmed commitments for an additional 140 trucks – with more in the pipeline.
We’re proud to have played a part in making the listing possible for the company, which is now trading under the ticker symbol ASX:JNS, and we look forward to following the journey from here.
