Can I design a parking lot?
Yes. Add parking rows, choose the number of spaces and the angle – 90°, 60°, 45° or parallel – and mark accessible and EV charging spaces. Each row is numbered and shows the number of spaces and its area. Add driving aisles, speed bumps, kerbs, planted islands, lighting and pay stations.
Can I plan trails, paths and parks?
Yes. Draw dirt and forest trails, gravel hiking trails, asphalt footpaths, bike paths, running tracks and boardwalks as smooth curves, and add signposts, benches, picnic tables, litter bins, path lights and rain shelters.
Is it suitable for large development projects?
Yes, for concept design. Use building templates with any number of floors, roads, parking lots, trails and planting to sketch a whole site, see it in 3D and export it as PDF or DXF for the architects and engineers who take it further.
Can I make a site plan?
Yes. Switch to Outside to draw the plot around the buildings, and print a site plan that shows the whole property at scale.
Where are my plans saved?
On your own computer. Press Save and choose where to keep the plan file; in Chrome and Edge every change is then saved to that file automatically. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account.
Can I export my floor plan to AutoCAD?
Yes. Export to AutoCAD DXF with walls, rooms, doors, windows and furniture on separate layers – and to PDF, PNG, SVG, GLB, OBJ, STL and CSV.
Can I print my floor plan to scale?
Yes. Print one floor per page at a true scale or fitted to the paper, or print a site plan with all floors.
How do I share a plan with someone?
Send them a PDF or picture, or send the plan file – they open it at kjoller.com/tools/floorplanner for free and can view, edit and walk through it in 3D.
Can I use the drawings for my business?
Yes. The plans and exports you make are yours – for listings, clients, contractors and planning meetings. They carry no logo or watermark.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your plans stay on your computer, nothing is uploaded and Floor Planner has no AI or tracking of your drawings built in.
Can I plan a hotel, a clinic, a salon or a kindergarten?
Yes. There are asset packs for hotels and holiday rentals, dental and medical clinics, hair salons and spas, nurseries and kindergartens, coworking spaces, churches and community halls, photo and music studios, and workshops and car garages – next to offices, gyms, restaurants, shops and bars.
Can I make a campsite or glamping site plan?
Yes. Switch to Outside and lay out camping pitches with hook-up posts, caravans, camper vans, motorhomes and tents, glamping bell tents, yurts and safari tents, toilet and shower blocks, camp kitchens, campfires, paths and trees.
Can I plan a gym, a restaurant, a shop or a bar?
Yes. There are asset packs for gyms and fitness centres (racks, machines, cardio, rigs, platforms and rubber floors), restaurants and commercial kitchens, retail stores (gondolas, checkouts, chillers, fitting rooms) and bars and nightclubs (bar counters, back bars, DJ booths, LED walls, VIP booths). Home and garage gyms are covered too.
Can I draw sloped ceilings?
Yes. Place a sloped ceiling over a room under the roof – one side, both sides or both sides with a flat top – and set the low edge and the highest point. The plan shows the 1.5 m and 2.0 m headroom lines and the floor area by headroom, and you can walk under the slope in 3D.
Can I plan CCTV, smart home, fire alarms and air conditioning?
Yes. The services layer has CCTV cameras, alarm sensors, smart locks, video doorbells, smart thermostats and switches, smoke and heat detectors, call points, extinguishers, exit signs, AC units, diffusers and ventilation – next to the electrical and plumbing symbols. The systems themselves must be designed and approved by qualified professionals.
Is it a backyard and landscape planner too?
Yes. Switch to Outside and plan lawns, terraces, paths and ponds, dry stone walls, gabion and retaining walls, greenhouses, garden cabins, chicken coops, firewood stores, outdoor fireplaces, trees and planting – then walk through the garden in 3D.
Can I view my floor plan in VR?
Yes. Open the 3D view on a VR headset with a WebXR browser, such as Meta Quest, and press Enter VR. Walk through the plan at real size – point a controller at the floor and pull the trigger to move, use the sticks to walk and turn, and press A or X to go up a floor. On a computer or tablet you get the normal 3D view and walk mode.
Can I export to Revit, Blender or DWG?
Yes. Export to IFC for Revit, ArchiCAD and other BIM software – with walls, doors, windows, floors, rooms and furniture. Export to GLB (glTF) and import it in Blender at real size. For DWG, export to DXF, open it in AutoCAD and save it as DWG.
Can I convert a DXF, PDF or LiDAR scan into a floor plan?
Yes. DXF, SVG and IFC files become walls, doors, windows and rooms you can edit. A 3D scan from a LiDAR scanning app (GLB, glTF or OBJ) is laid under the plan as an exact tracing layer. A PDF or photo of a plan can be traced: set the scale from one known length and draw over it – or let your own AI read it with our AI kit.
Can I import a hand-drawn floor plan?
Yes. Take a photo of the sketch and either trace over it with the scale set from one measurement, or give the photo and our AI kit to the AI you already use and upload the plan file it returns.
Can I use it for planning permission drawings?
Yes, for many simple applications: floor plans at 1:50, 1:100 or 1:200 with a scale bar, a site plan with boundaries and a north arrow, room names and areas. Requirements differ between countries and councils, so check what your authority needs – some applications must be drawn by a professional.
Can I plan an office, a warehouse or an event venue?
Yes. There are assets for offices (workstation clusters, phone booths, reception desks, lockers), warehouses (pallet racking, forklifts, docks, containers), events and weddings (banquet tables, stages, dance floors, marquees) and festivals (food trucks, portable toilets, crowd barriers).
Is it suitable for school assignments?
Yes. There are no accounts and no e-mail addresses, and nothing to install. Students save their plan as a file and hand in the file or a PDF. It’s a practical way to teach scale, area, perimeter and units.
Can I draw electrical and plumbing plans?
Yes. Place almost 90 electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, security and fire safety symbols and draw colour-coded cables and pipes on their own layer. Counts and lengths go into the CSV schedule. It’s a planning tool – the installation itself should be designed and done by qualified professionals.
